Located only a few hours from Tokyo (about 2.5 hours by train or 3.5 hours by car), Iritahama is the closest tropical beach to Tokyo. Aquaholic Iritahama stands on such a beach, with a white sandy beach down the stairs in front of the balcony, and the beautiful shallow emerald green ocean beyond. Palm trees and hibiscus trees grow wild in the surrounding area, creating a tropical atmosphere. If such a place were in Hawaii or Okinawa, there would be no surprise, but Irita Beach is only a few hours from Tokyo. Irita-hama, with its highly transparent water and beautiful powder sand, is rated AA in the water quality survey conducted by the Ministry of the Environment, the highest rank among the approximately 800 beaches in Japan. Of the 800 beaches in Japan, only 14 are rated AA. Most of these 14 locations belong to the Okinawa Islands, where the water quality is excellent, but Irita-hama is also rated in the same rank as the beautiful ocean of Okinawa! It makes sense that loggerhead turtles, which prefer clean sandy beaches, visit every year to lay their eggs.

And the fact that it is so close means that it is easy on the wallet. Nowadays, going to Okinawa and Hawaii by plane could cost several hundred thousand yen for the round-trip by airplane. If you go to Iritahama by car, it would only cost about 5,000 yen for the expressway plus gasoline one way.  You can spend several nights already at Aquaholic with only the cost of transportation to Okinawa or Hawaii!!
